JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Development Officer is a member of the Organizational Advancement team and is responsible for the overall development, growth, and management of the major gifts program, which manages relationships and secures support from individuals and corporations capable of making gifts of $5,000 or above. This position manages a personal 150-donor portfolio, which includes current and prospective major donors. This position develops and implements plans surrounding prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding for major gift fundraising and philanthropic support to help meet the mission and shape the future of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute major gift activities, including ability to ask for and close gifts of $5,000 and above
Able to ask leading questions that encourage prospects and donors to talk about themselves and their activities
Ability to motivate and encourage people to be involved in the major gift cultivation and solicitation process
Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines
Able to articulate the mission and programs of Catholic Charities to a diverse constituency, including Catholic and Non-Catholic denomination.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience : Five (5) years of fundraising experience
