Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our DCT Administration Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Director of Administrative Excellence! As the Director of Administrative Excellence, you will provide practical support and strategic counsel to the DCT Health System CEO and serve as liaison to the DCT Executive Board of Directors. In addition, you will manage the Office of the CEO by establishing and maintaining a climate for efficient office management, communications, and coordination, carry out special projects for the Health System CEO, and assist in handling internal and external relations on their behalf. You will play a key role in shaping organizational culture by developing and implementing best department support practices that enhance the engagement, development, and experience of DCT employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and anticipate the administrative needs of the Health System CEO and ensure that appropriate processes are in place and followed.

  • Supervise the daily functions of executive support staff and collaborates with employees to effectively evaluate needs and perform assigned job duties, while achieving the objectives of DCT ensuring agency consistency and efficiency.

  • Provide management support to the DCT Executive Team when needed. Ensure the effective operational management of the Health System CEO’s suite and the work related to DCT’s Executive Board chair and members.

  • Coordinates all functions of the DCT Executive Board in collaboration with the CEO and/or designee (Legal, Quality, Support, etc).Assists in taking minutes, follow up, coordination of meetings with board members, and effective follow-up, communication, and flexibility based on board needs.

  • Supervise the process by which constituent inquiries, problems and needs are received, handled, and responded to so that constituents receive prompt and accurate information and assistance from the department.

  • Serve as liaison with the Governor’s office and the legislature and assist the Health System CEO in their role on Interagency Committees and Subcabinets.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to travel to various DCT sites and work with local entities to establish tours, speaking engagements and more pending the request of the events.

Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) is a health care system that includes psychiatric hospitals and other inpatient mental health treatment facilities; inpatient substance abuse treatment facilities; dental clinics, group homes, vocational sites, and sex offender treatment facilities. In all, DCT delivers these services at about 200 sites statewide and serves people with mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

5 years of experience providing high level administrative support at a c-suite level, executive and board of directors, demonstrating:

  • Thorough working knowledge of the applicable statutes, rules, policies, and procedures, and the overall DCT programs.

  • Knowledge of the state legislative process.

  • A combination of human relations and managerial skills, as well as being able to recognize the need for confidentiality of sensitive issues.

  • Advanced level ability to use different types of software packages including Microsoft products - Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint; Adobe, and willing to learn other software used within state government.

  • Demonstrates the ability to use accessibility software to ensure documents are adequately prepared for the hearing impaired.

  • Sophisticated communications skills including the ability to speak effectively in the presentation of ideas, policies, etc. and the ability to write in a clear and accurate manner.Demonstrates the ability to proofread and ensure readability and use of grammar.

  • Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare, human resources, organizational management, or a related field.

  • 5-10 years experience working within a health care organization.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
