Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description
The Engineering Technician assists engineering personnel in the technical development, evaluation, and testing of new product development of electronic motor controls. This technician sets up and performs electrical, environmental, and agency testing to support engineering and design qualification of electronic motor controls. Additionally, the role supports activities to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment in the electronic lab.
Responsibilities
Assist engineering personnel in the technical development, evaluation, and testing of new product development of electronic motor controls.
Set up and perform electrical, environmental, and agency testing to support engineering and design qualification of electronic motor controls.
Support activities to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment in the electronic lab.
Essential Skills
Experience with electronics, soldering, and PCB design and testing.
Experience with embedded systems and development/testing.
Proficiency in using lab equipment like oscilloscope, power meter, chart recorder, etc.
Ability to troubleshoot and work with power electronics and motor control systems.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to navigate Microsoft Office applications and learn other computer skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) or equivalent experience.
1 to 3 years of technician experience in an electrical/electronics lab environment preferred.
Familiarity with electronic and mechanical components used in electronic assemblies.
Soldering skills to solder surface mount and through-hole electronic components.
Familiarity/experience to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
Familiarity in design and development of electronics for HVAC or appliance industries.
Work Environment
The position is on-site 5 days a week with a typical start time between 7:30-8:30am and an end time between 3:30-4:30pm (8-hour days). There may be some flexibility in the schedule.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
