Job Description

This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month.

Job Summary:

Raymond James is seeking a dedicated Lead Analyst to support ETL testing for our data projects including consolidated data store and AWS databases. This role will be responsible for testing as well as coordinating testing efforts for multiple offshore teams as well as collaborating with internal team members for integration and end to end testing. The selected candidate will review functional requirements and use business and technical knowledge to analyze and develop software test strategies, plans and test cases. Validates the data is correctly extracted from source systems, accurately transformed according to business rules, and properly loaded into the target database. Performs testing for application development projects and where appropriate, technology infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure testing is on track for completion, and plan efforts, communicate testing priorities to multiple offshore teams.

  • Communicate deadlines and provide status reports to relevant stakeholders.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to testing processes including automation or reporting.

  • Write SQL test scripts.

  • Develop and validate complex new test methods and procedures for a product or operations segment, incorporating new technologies and meeting changing organizational, customer, and/or regulatory requirements.

  • Plan and manage the delivery of projects within an area of professional expertise, using an appropriate project management methodology to give assurance that intended outcomes are achieved.

  • Design and monitor the quality of website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.

  • Develop complex innovations of critical products or services, running pilots and testing through fast-paced launches, managing project schedules, identifying risks, and communicating to project stakeholders and external partners.

  • Review existing operations in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered.

  • Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work and team’s work adheres to required standards.

  • Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.

  • Conduct complex analyses of costs for a significant part of the business to identify variances, suggest efficiencies, and increase profitability.

  • Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Skills:

  • Preferred leadership experience with offshore/contract resources

  • Proven experience as an ETL Test Lead or in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data integration concepts.

  • In-depth experience in SQL and experience with ETL tools such as Informatica.

  • Knowledge of testing terminology

  • SDLC knowledge (waterfall & Agile)

  • Thorough knowledge of structured test methods and processes.

  • Knowledge of both Manual and Automated Testing.

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles.

  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.

  • Preferred experience with Python, Java, etc.

  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps (aka TFS) or similar tool.

  • Knowledge of web service testing using tools like Postman (preferred).

  • Knowledge of investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while guiding and training others on managing projects and/or programs within desired cost, time and quality parameters.

  • Works at an advanced level to identify potential stakeholders, analyze their expectations, and develop strategies for managing stakeholders and their expectations. Typically works independently and provides guidance.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on analyzing the business requirements that IT solutions must meet.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on ensuring that IT applications meet required specifications by designing, executing and reporting on tests of systems and services.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and/or skills to independently engage in strategic planning.

Education

Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science
