Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity in the accounting industry. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for handling various accounting functions, including account coding and reconciliation, using various accounting software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications as part of the Accounts Payable (AP) function

• Utilize accounting software systems to maintain and update customer credit records

• Independently tackle and resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts

• Monitor customer accounts and perform necessary actions to ensure accuracy

• Handle account coding and accrual accounting tasks to maintain accurate financial records

• Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies

• Utilize Automated Clearing House (ACH) for efficient transaction processing

• Problem-solve independently to address any issues or challenges that arise in the accounts payable process

• Ensure all accounting functions are performed in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Minimum of three years experience in an accounts payable role.

• Proficiency in account coding and accrual accounting.

• Demonstrated experience with accounting software systems.

• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.

• Solid understanding of accounting functions and accounts payable procedures.

• Excellent numerical proficiency and attention to detail.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and within a team to meet deadlines.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
