Job Description Summary
The Image Quality Scientist is responsible for research and development for new and existing imaging products in the GE Healthcare Surgery product line. They prove a concept to be valid by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. Their work typically has the objective of demonstrating through test or analysis the performance and implementation potential of a concept. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Specifying requirements which can be implemented by the engineering team
Executing design to engineering standards
Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality
Verification and validation of system features and sub-systems relating to X-ray exposure control, image processing, and visualization.
Working within a team to deliver technical solutions
Working with external collaborators and/or technical leadership to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
- MS or PHD in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4 years relevant work experience.
Desired Characteristics
Broad exposure to medical imaging physics
Ability to design and develop imaging algorithms
Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis and simulation (MATLAB, Python, C++, etc)
Effective communication skills and boundaryless behavior
