ASIAN ASSOCIATION OF UTAH Lead Afterschool Program Coordinator in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Job Title: Lead Afterschool Program Coordinator              Reports To: Director of Refugee Services             

Principle Function

BASIC OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The Lead Afterschool Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Refugee Services and the co-afterschool program coordinator to ensure excellence in service delivery, administrative tasks and reporting outcomes according to program goals connected Asian Association of Utah's (AAU) five afterschool programs located in Millcreek City.

This role is an exempt position that reports directly to the Director of Refugee Services and is a 100% in person, on-site role.

Major Responsibilities

Afterschool Team Leadership

·         Lead AAU afterschool team to meet agency, grant and program goals

·         Collaborate with the Afterschool Coordinator on execution and leadership direction

·         Provide cover for other afterschool staff who are on PTO; this includes but is not limited to facilitating afterschool programming, creating lesson plans and overall general execution of the program

·         Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with team members to direct coach and provide feedback

·         Support lead program site staff to lead their weekly staff meetings; participate in individual site staff meetings

Data Collection and Reporting

·         Collect appropriate program data; comply with all record keeping (e.g., case notes, client forms, etc.) requirements, entering data into TEAMS

·         Report to agency leadership and grant funders in a timely, professional manner

·         Oversee team efforts with data collection, reporting and ongoing data usage

Organization and Community Collaboration

·         Develop relationship, rapport and communication with afterschool community stake holders, school principals, partners, etc

·         Present to team members and greater community on afterschool programming and how to engage

·         Maintain working knowledge of all in-house programs available to afterschool students and their families

·         Attend and participate in agency staff meetings and trainings.

·         Perform other tasks as identified and assigned

Job Qualifications

·         Minimum Qualifications

-          Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities.

-          Demonstrated appropriate decisiveness and creative problem-solving when making decisions regarding next steps for cases.

-          Ability to follow directions, manage time, work well under pressure, and maintain composure during stressful situations.

-          Access to a personal vehicle, proof of valid driver's license, auto insurance, current registration, good driving record and passing a background check is required.

·         Preferred Qualifications

-          Bachelor's degree in related field

-          Experience working with refugeesimmigrants or diverse populations

-          Multilingual candidates preferred but not required

·         Schedule

-          M-F 10 am to 6:30 pm with occasional later evening or weekend work

Compensation Package

  • Exempt; $24-27/hour rate DOE

  • Paid Time Off earned at 6 hours per pay period

-Retirement package with agency contribution of 6%, no match required; available after 1 year of employment
