University of Utah Health Operations Project Manager, OPMO in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

For use in the Operational Project Management Office (OPMO) only. This position is responsible for the implementation of institutional priorities through the application of standard project management processes and procedures. The incumbent provides administrative project leadership, support, and communication for assigned projects and departmental and senior leaders. The incumbent also serves as a liaison between involved teams within the organization, ensuring successful execution of all projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and support to multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Leads project planning and plan implementation for system initiatives.

  • Facilitates the development and usage of standard project management principals and documentation, including scope definition and management, project communication, risk mitigation and timeline development and management, and other PM processes based on project and stakeholder need.

  • Actively engages stakeholders in decision making, project status updates, and appropriate communication and escalation of impacts to project constraints.

  • Performs appropriate project closure processes to include evaluation and documentation of project successes, assessment of results and lessons learned.

  • Leads operational projects in accordance with applicable OPMO standards, project management best practices, policies, procedures, and project stakeholder approaches.

  • Responsible for project stakeholder satisfaction relating to assigned projects.

  • Ensures defined project goals and deliverables are completed timely, and to stakeholder specifications.

  • Continuously monitors and reports on project deliverables and quality achievements to all stakeholders.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.

  • Working knowledge of project management processes.

  • Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently within a team setting.

  • Ability to foster successful working relationships with staff, coworkers, internal customers, department and administrative leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategies into clear, appropriate priorities and objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalency.

  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in a business or health care setting.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • PMP Certification (Project Management Professional Certification).

  • Master's degree in a related field.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
