Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is now hiring an experienced Shotcrete Nozzleman to join our team!

The Shotcrete Nozzleman is responsible for all aspects involved in the application of shotcrete and the installation of shotcrete structures. May be asked to work away from home for extended periods of time according to projects needs.

Position_Description :

  • Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices. Assumes responsibility for safety in the area where shotcrete is applied.
  • Examines and understands blueprints to determine the size and dimensions of structure.
  • Examines and understands specifications, shop drawings, and submittals to determine the required shotcrete mix design.
  • Determines sequence of activities concerned with the application of shotcrete
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Coordinates with Superintendent / Foreman to obtain the required personnel for the work.
  • Calculates shotcrete quantities
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Estimates and inspects materials. May be asked to requisition materials as directed by the Superintendent / Foreman.
  • Supervises those workers engaged in the application of shotcrete and the construction of shotcrete structures
  • Ensures that all surfaces to be shot are clean and free of laitance or loose material.
  • Ensures that operating pressure is uniform and provides proper nozzle velocity for good compaction
  • Determine the necessary site plan and operating procedures for proper shotcrete placement and compaction of shotcrete around reinforcement, in corners, and in voids.
  • Ensures that shotcrete is brought to finished lines in a neat and workmanlike manner
  • Inspects work performed by shotcrete crew to ensure quality.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
  • Inspects and provides basic maintenance of the shotcrete equipment.

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of Shotcrete Nozzleman experience is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of shotcrete application, equipment, methods, and safety is required.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • ACI Shotcrete Operator Certificatio is required. We can certify if needed.
  • Must be willing to work 60+ hours a week, nights, and weekends during summer operations.
