Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Systems Administrator/Data Analyst for the University of Utah Auxiliary Services IT department. This role will administrate all of the systems and technology utilized by the Commuter Services ( UCS ) division to serve the parking and transportation needs of our university community. This role will also oversee data analysis needs for Auxiliary Services enterprise systems, using tools/methods such as Tableau, SQL Databases, Crystal Reports, data extraction and import, and others.
Responsibilities
Responsible for administrating and maintaining all Commuter Services ( UCS ) enterprise systems.
Administrate the T2 Flex environment for UCS . This includes Flex, FlexPort, Digital iRis, MobilePay, and other components/modules.
Administrate the Genetec Security Center system and patroller suite used in the LPR fleet. This includes troubleshooting and managing camera hardware, in conjunction with our vendor-partner.
Administrates the EMS event system and the server it runs on.
Administrate UCS field equipment, including Android handheld devices and Digital pay stations.
Manage Data Analysis and Reporting:
Manages and is the primary author for creating new data connections and dashboards within our Tableau workspace.
Creates new views and informational reports within Tableau regularly, both in reaction to, and in anticipation of, leadership needs
Serves as the primary author for report and letter templates used by various Auxiliary Services divisions systems in supporting our operational needs.
Works with Auxiliary IT and UIT in merging data from auxiliary enterprise systems with other campus data for further analysis.
Attends trainings as needed to enhance data analysis and Tableau functionality for Auxiliary Services.
Manage UCS technical projects:
Manages system upgrades, integrations, and implementations for UCS – in partnership with Auxiliary IT team members.
Meets regularly with UCS leadership to gain understanding of future needs, and to apprise the status of current projects.
Performs regular process reviews in UCS to aid leadership in efficiencies and indicate opportunities.
Consults with UCS teams on technology needs, uses, and desired enhancements to existing systems.
Keeps up to date on the technologies relevant to the transportation industry.
Maintains vendor relationships and UCS security compliance:
Is primary point of contact for system vendor-partners in UCS .
Ensures vendors are complying with campus IT security requirements.
Attends conferences and trainings with vendor-partners regularly.
Works with vendors to enhance systems to meet the needs of UCS .
Audits all UCS system user accounts regularly and tracks access needs.
Is primary point of contact for UCS networks and servers.

Minimum Qualifications
Require a bachelor’s degree in a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Preferences
Experience:
Experience with Tableau, or similar data analysis toolsets.
Experience with SQL queries and databases preferred.
Experience with T2 Systems parking suites (Flex, Digital Iris, Flexport, Crystal Reports, MobilePay, etc.) Flex experience is preferred.
Experience with Genetec Security Center and Patroller LPR suites preferred.
Experience managing technical assets.
Ability to communicate IT concepts to non-technical users.
Skills:
Ability to analyze data and merge data using various reporting tools/methods.
Ability to manage and implement IT related projects.
Knowledge of how to coordinate and maintain vendor relationships.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information:
Some travel around campus will be required for working with various Auxiliary Services teams.
Hours will be 8am-5:00pm with an hour lunch break.
