ARUP Laboratories Talent Development Specialist I in Salt Lake City, Utah

Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk)8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Primary Purpose

The role of the Talent Development Specialist I is to coordinate training and education for new hires which may include basic professional and IT skills. In addition, this role will support activities and functions of employee engagement and the Five Pillars Academy. The Five Pillars Academy is the framework for courses and classes to provide opportunities for employees and leaders to increase their business and professional skills.

Essential Functions:

Supports the Talent Development Strategic Plan and Objectives.

Supports overall Human Services retention strategies.

Manages and conducts new hire orientation for new ARUP employees, medical directors, and fellows.

Manages and follows-up on new hire mandatory education.

Sends out onboarding and 6 week post-hire surveys to new hires,

Reviews the content and materials for orientation annually.

Modifies and monitors other employee surveys as needed

Creates and supports learning activities for employees to support individual, business, and professional development.

Oversees the day-to-day coordination of the courses, presenters, and rooms for the various training programs.

Assists in the evaluation of the program effectiveness based on feedback and evaluations of the courses.

Works with other members of the Talent Development Team to develop communications and promotional materials.

Interacts and serves as a liaison for employees and presenters.

Supports and may assist with engagement activities and programs sponsored by the Human Services Division.

May assist with the ARUP recognition programs and recognition events.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or better in Business

Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field of study

Preferred

  • Experience with LEaP administration

  • Experience with Qualtrics Survey Tool

  • 1-2 year: Experience in training, facilitation, organizational development, employee engagement
