Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Engineer/Analyst to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This role will involve critical tasks in information assurance, cybersecurity, and supporting a range of cyber defense and operations activities. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, vulnerability assessments, and various cybersecurity domains such as network defense, software assurance, and anti-tamper technologies. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to protect and secure systems, networks, and data, as well as help shape the future of cyber defense through research and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Information Assurance & Cyber Security: Ensure robust protection and integrity of systems and data through comprehensive information assurance practices. Implement security protocols and safeguard sensitive information across various environments.
Authority to Operate (ATO) & RMF Compliance: Manage the process of obtaining Authority to Operate (ATO) and maintain compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Provide guidance on documentation, security controls, and continuous monitoring to meet compliance standards.
Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct vulnerability assessments on systems and networks to identify security weaknesses. Recommend and implement remediation measures to enhance system security and mitigate risk.
Computer Network Defense: Support efforts to defend critical networks from external and internal threats. Implement tools and processes to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents, ensuring the continuous integrity of systems and networks.
Software Assurance: Perform assessments to ensure software is free from security vulnerabilities and complies with best practices for secure development and deployment. Provide solutions to rectify software security issues across different platforms.
Anti-Tamper Technology: Work on implementing anti-tamper measures to protect intellectual property, hardware, and software against unauthorized access or reverse engineering. Ensure the integrity of the system and its components throughout the lifecycle.
Supply Chain Security: Assess and mitigate risks related to the security of the supply chain. Ensure that third-party vendors and contractors adhere to security requirements and protocols to minimize supply chain risks.
Cyber Operations: Participate in cybersecurity operations by monitoring and responding to potential threats in real-time. Provide expertise in cyber attack prevention, detection, and recovery.
Cyber Research & Development: Engage in R&D activities to explore innovative approaches to enhance cybersecurity measures and tactics. Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and technologies to provide forward-thinking solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF), Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, and cybersecurity compliance.
Demonstrated experience in conducting vulnerability assessments, network defense, and incident response.
Hands-on experience in software assurance and applying security measures to safeguard applications.
Experience working with anti-tamper technologies, securing the supply chain, and protecting critical systems and information.
Knowledge of cyber operations and research and development in the context of cybersecurity.
Skills:
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
Proficient with tools for vulnerability scanning, risk assessment, and incident management.
Experience with NIST 800-53, FISMA, CMMC, and other security frameworks and standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and presenting to senior management and stakeholders.
Certifications:
Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, or other comparable credentials are preferred.
Clearance: Must have an Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred).
