Valero Facility Maintenance Mechanic II in SAN ANTONIO, Texas
Description:
Provides technical leadership and training to lower level staff. Performs maintenance duties, and makes repairs to equipment, systems, and the physical structure of the facility.
- Improves the department’s efficiency and reliability while maintaining the department’s safety record.
- Maintains facility general electrical, plumbing, millwork, painting drywall, flooring, welding, and irrigation systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs irrigation systems.
- Ensures all work is performed in accordance with established building codes and safety procedures.
- Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions.
- Plans the set-up and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool feeds and speeds.
- Reviews and maintains inventories of maintenance vehicles, supplies, and repair parts at required levels.
- Maintains fitness center equipment, including testing, determining issues, and performing repairs.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on Kitchen equipment.
- Refinishes and repairs furniture and damaged millwork.
- Ensures all company issued tools are kept clean, functioning properly, and are neatly organized.
- Works on-call duty 24/7 for one week at a time on a rotating schedule. On call duties will occur every 8-12 weeks and will begin/end at midnight on Sunday.
- Creates, completes and updates required documentation for work orders.
- Provides services at all Valero sites as required.
- Performs other duties and travel as needed.
- This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or GED required
* 8 years of combined experience in facility and/or plant maintenance, with emphasis in one or more of the following areas required: welding, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, construction, drywall and/or painting required.
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
* 10 or more years of overall experience preferred, including: Working as a plumber, Maintaining water softeners, drinking fountains, coffee, boilers, water heaters, and radiant heat systems, Basic troubleshooting of electrical systems, Basic troubleshooting HVAC systems, and/or Sewer & Drain Line cleaning preferred.
* OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required
* National Association of the Remodeling Industry preferred.
* Apprentice Carpenter preferred.
* State of Texas Journeyman License for plumbing preferred
* Backflow Preventer License preferred.
* Pipe & Structural Steel Welding Certificate preferred.
* Irrigator’s license preferred.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
