Job Duties:

Design and develop structural components for buildings, interpreting and implementing building design codes in practice to U.S. Standards such as AISC, ACI, IBC, ASCE, and NDS. Review submittals and shop drawings, address contractor RFIs, coordinate with architects on project development weekly, and conduct site visits for ongoing projects.

Specific duties performed on a daily basis:

1. Design the structural elements of buildings while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and project requirements. This involves utilizing software and collaborating with architects to integrate structural integrity seamlessly into the design.
2. Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors, providing clarifications and solutions to design-related queries promptly.
3. Review submittals and shop drawings submitted by contractors and suppliers to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
4. Coordinate with architects to align structural designs with overall project development through regular meetings to discuss design modifications, resolve conflicts, and ensure that the structural aspects complement the architectural vision of the project.
5. Conduct site visits for ongoing projects and ensure that structural designs are implemented correctly according to plans and specifications.
