Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Sheet Metal Mechanics and Helpers to install HVAC systems on commercial construction projects. This role involves hanging, cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal, as well as cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate duct runs. You will also assemble and install sheet metal ducts, fittings, and hangers, joining ducts and fittings using screws, bolts, drives, solder, caulk, and weld joints.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC systems on commercial construction projects.

• Hang, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal.

• Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate runs of duct using hand tools and power tools.

• Assemble and install sheet metal ducts, fittings, and hangers.

• Join ducts and fittings using screws, bolts, drives, solder, caulk, and weld joints.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of experience on commercial construction projects.

• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

• Experience laying hangers and installing ducts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Experience with hand tools and power tools.

• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, installation, and HVAC systems.

Work Environment

You will need to travel to the job site daily in your own vehicle. Job sites are located in San Antonio. Expect to work 40+ hours per week, with flexibility for overtime as needed. Work starts between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM most days. A mandatory safety orientation will be held at our office on your first Monday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $31.00
