**Warehouse Manager

Job Summary The Warehouse Manager is responsible for effectively leading the daily activities and personnel of the warehouse and logistics operation, while promoting workplace safety, maintaining departmental organization, and fostering a team-oriented work culture. This role serves as a critical support function to the purchasing and supply chain departments by ensuring that the perpetual inventory within the companys ERP/WMS platform is maintained timely and accurately by warehouse staff. The Warehouse Manager is a key member of the plant leadership team and reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define standards and set departmental goals/objectives for the warehouse team as they relate to safety, GMPs, and accuracy and timeliness of filling customer orders.
  • Maintain accuracy, proper rotation, and organization of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Oversee and perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts, and participate in the end-of-year inventory audit process.
  • Investigate and implement corrective action for complaints involving such matters as damaged product, wrong product loaded onto trucks, inventory adjustments and variances, delays in shipments, and product quality issues.
  • Ensure customer orders are filled timely and loaded accurately.
  • Ensure the right raw materials are staged accurately and timely to drive on-time starts to production daily.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed for shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Promote safe work behaviors and enforce safety policies for loading, unloading and general operation of powered industrial trucks (PIT).
  • Train and enforce compliance with all organizational, operational and inventory controls.
  • Coach, train, direct and counsel the warehouse supervisor
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations of warehouse personnel.
  • Recommend and coordinate improvements in the warehouse as they relate to safety, facility, and equipment maintenance.
  • Serve as a member on the Safety Committee, while attending all monthly meetings and following up on initiatives to improve the safety in your department.
  • Report near-misses, complete incident reports, and perform accident investigations.
  • Perform entries into ERP/WMS when and where necessary to ensure accuracy and timeliness of inventories.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) in the warehouse and logistics department to build consistency in operations and to standardize training for new hires.
  • Ensure safe working condition of all powered industrial trucks and that all forklift drivers have and maintain documented training.
  • Work closely and professionally with third-party suppliers, vendors, carriers, and contractors to ensure projects, work orders, and improvements are carried out efficiently, while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Work closely and professionally with other departmental heads and personnel, while maintaining a team-oriented work culture across departmental lines.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Valid state motor vehicle operators license and ability to obtain and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with State laws
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem-solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications kills
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP or similar system
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP/WMS systems

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superb time management and project scheduling skills.
  • Must have a proven track record of successfully managing large, complex projects.
  • Comprehensive information on construction processes, trade practices, standards, building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent administrative and follow-up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair programs.
  • Ability to lead teams and achieve results through resources.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; and ability to adjust focus. Must be willing and able to wear approved PPE as specified by GMP standards. The employees are regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places; extreme heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Must be able to work around food allergens.
