Spectrum Plastics Master Controller, Site in San Clemente, California
The Plant Controller serves as the primary finance and accounting leader at the site. In this capacity, the role involves providing analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support to our growing global business. The ability to work independently while being a true business partner to other site leaders is crucial. This role is responsible for the San Clemente manufacturing facility and warehouse space in San Diego, CA, all on a single trial balance.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Plant months end close and financial reporting (30%)
Complete and process monthly journal entries
Balance sheet reconciliations
Weekly expense reporting/forecasting
Financial month-end close process
Monthly forecasting and trend analysis
Annual budgeting and Rolling Forecast
Accounts Payable/Receivable (10%)
Oversee routing of invoices for payment
Work with Shared Services to troubleshoot any cash application and payment issues
Travel & P-card Administrator (10%)
Concur administrator for site personnel (T&E)
Manage out-of-pocket reimbursements
Monthly Concur Accrual and Expense
Treasury management (10%)
Manage and reconcile monthly intercompany accounting
Month-end cash closing
Other duties include project management, costing, scrap tracking, capital expenditure tracking, continuous improvement projects, sales and use tax filing, forecasting (weekly and monthly), budget, and external & internal audit support (40%).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (accounting major) with major coursework in business, finance accounting, and at least 5 years of accounting/financial analysis experience within a manufacturing company.
MBA, CPA, CMA, or other professional accounting designation is desired.
Must be highly computer literate with data mining and ERP systems, and have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and analytical skills. Requires deadline-driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as a key contributor on teams. IQMS ERP system experience a plus.
The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Be able to perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Travel will be necessary occasionally.
Additional requirements include a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to multi-task with moderate supervision. Experience with Cognos products would be a plus but not required.
