CoreCivic Behavioral Conduct Specialist, Community Corrections - Ocean View in SAN DIEGO, California

$26.33 per hour

What You Get To Do:

Change the lives of those in your care! The Behavioral Conduct Specialist, Community Corrections is responsible for the administration of the resident/inmate discipline and rewards programs. Recommends and renders discipline and rewards in accordance with general guidelines, methods, policies, regulations, and laws.

  • Reviews incident reports/rule violations submitted by staff to ensure complete information has been provided, and recommends sanctions for the infractions using progressive discipline guidelines.

  • Conducts fair and impartial discipline hearings in accordance with company policy and procedure, and due process rights of residents/inmates. Maintains the integrity of the discipline process at all times.

  • Completes discipline packets/reports, and logs all incident reports/rule violations, discipline activity, notes regarding resident/inmate behavior into facilities management software (FMS).

  • Participates in the development and implementation of a positive reinforcement system for compliance, programming milestones, and other achievements.

  • Provides staff training to maintain consistency in the discipline process and to encourage staff's role and responsibility in reinforcing resident/inmate compliance with rules, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science field is required.

  • One year of experience in a related field is required.

  • Additional related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing and apply problem solving techniques to complex issues.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office or other similar software applications is required.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
