As a Qualcomm Hardware Engineer, you will plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems, bring-up yield, circuits, mechanical systems, Digital/Analog/RF/optical systems, equipment and packaging, test systems, FPGA, and/or DSP systems that launch cutting-edge, world class products. Qualcomm Hardware Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and meet performance requirements.

Summary of the role:

• Collaborate with RFIC, EM and PTE teams closely to deliver Complex RF Sub6, IF and 5G mmWave - ATE Char and high-volume production FT HW designs, Bench and OTA Char HW Designs, E2E Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Simulations

• Independently drive HW Bring up/debug in labs & test floors globally along with HW implementation in SATs, Lead Vertical Spring Probe HW design process across Transceiver, 5G and PMIC Projects from requirement gathering to validation.

• Candidate needs to have excellent technical understanding and experience in RF/ mixed signal circuit design, SI, Power management concepts, ATE & Bench Test equipment and architectures along with in-depth knowledge of DxDesigner, Expedition and 2.5D/3D simulation tools.

• Effective communication skills are essential to drive design reviews and communicate clear status and schedules for all designs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

Job responsibilities include:

• Working Closely with cross functional team including ASIC Design, Mechanical, CAD, Component engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Power and Signal Integrity Analysis and PTE.

• Design and debug of test interface hardware, schematic capture, oversee layout, run E2E Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Simulations, Independently drive HW Bring up/debug in labs & test floors and release test hardware into volume production at SATs.

• Excellent technical understanding and experience in RF/ mixed signal circuit design, SI, Power management concepts, ATE & Bench Test equipment and architectures.

• Understanding of different Probe technologies and wafer level testing concepts.

• Experience with Signal/ Power integrity 2.5D/3D EDA tools (Cadence Sigrity, Ansys 3D, ADS). This includes PCB extractions, optimizations and End-End simulation for overall performance.

• Experience in Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and Expedition is desirable.

• Conduct and document design reviews to meet strict product development schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Effective communication skills essential to drive design reviews and communicate clear status and schedules for Hardware designed.

• Understanding and ability to apply electrical engineering concepts and circuit solving skills.

• Able to work with common test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, network analyzer, etc.), ATE test platforms (Teradyne UFLEX, Advantest 93K) and handlers/probers.

• Knowledge in RF mmWave, mixed-signal, or analog PCB design including CAD interface

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits :

$104,000.00 - $156,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
