General Summary:

Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of IT-relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree.

OR

9+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in IT-relevant field.

• 3+ years of experience leading informal teams.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages prioritization of all troubleshooting activities, ensures resources are aligned appropriately, manages escalation of issues, and drives escalation of issues internally and with vendors.

• Manages prioritization of issues, drives the application of innovative solutions, and ensures resources are aligned appropriately.

• Re-scopes projects based on discussions with business partners, identifies resources, delegates work, and reviews the work of team members in order to address changing timelines or priorities.

• Collaborates with business partners to identify system solutions or other complex technical information.

• Provides subject matter expertise to senior leaders within the organization, proactively builds, maintains, and influences long-term relationships at all levels inside and outside the organization, and adapts communication style to technical and non-technical audience.

• Communicates within and outside of project team to resolve conflicts in implementation schedules, design challenges, and other complexities.

• Manages team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for large and/or multiple projects, and makes decisions that address significant issues.

• Manages and validates business requirements within large scale projects, and leverages understanding of IT landscape to identify conflicting requirements and impact on other areas within the business.

• Manages development of functional and/or system specifications for large systems, and understands the impact of IT landscape on specifications.

• Serves as a buffer by proactively addressing any distractions before junior personnel experience setbacks.

• Manages test deliverables and testing issues, reviews and validates test results and strategy, helps guide teams through quality assurance process, and ensures governance compliance across multiple projects.

Level of Responsibility:

• Working independently with little supervision.

• Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with more significant impact, influencing overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives; errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results; errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct.

• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.

• Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).

• Using deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required.

• Exercising exceptional creativity is needed to innovate new ideas and develop innovative products/ processes without established objectives or known parameters.

Pay range:

$137,500.00 - $206,500.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
