TEKsystems Design Prototyper in San Francisco, California
Location: Onsite role in Seattle or Burlingame
Experience: 5-7 years
Education: Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field required. Portfolio showcasing relevant work is essential.
Summary:
The main function of a Prototyper is to research, design, and create prototypes in areas including augmented and virtual reality. A typical prototyper is responsible for building and enhancing prototyping platforms in partnership with other prototypers and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Explore different input capabilities for AR glasses using Unity and C#
Develop high-quality prototypes to explore various types of input and interactions
Collaborate across multiple teams to inform hardware API and experiential requirements
Provide guidance to other teams to ensure best practices and coherence of interactions
Requirements:
Extensive experience in Unity and C# development
Strong understanding of linear algebra
Portfolio showcasing experiences developed for AR/VR platforms
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Generic Job Responsibilities:
Research, design, and create interactive prototypes
Collaborate with other technical teams to build and enhance prototyping platforms
Set up and maintain prototypes and present to various audiences
Communicate analysis to cross-functional partners
Give and solicit real-time feedback to improve product quality
Partner effectively with PMs, engineers, user researchers, content strategists, and QA teams, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch, as well as post-launch design support
Create product-ready assets for internal rapid testing and external release
Advocate for product design throughout the organization
Skills:
Experience with real-time 3D development
Programming experience in one or more languages: C#, C/C++, Python, Java
Experience with AR/VR and game development
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving ability
Ability to visualize in 3D and understand aesthetic aspects of design
Previous experience using computers to create layouts and generate new images
Proven problem-solving experience and ability to overcome challenges
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
