Wells Fargo Lead Finance Analyst - Middle Market Banking in SAN FRANCISCO, California
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Finance Analyst within Business Finance, to support the Middle Market Banking (“MMB”) business within Wells Fargo Commercial Banking. The position will work closely with Division and Industry Leaders as well as the broader Finance team supporting a matrixed environment as part of a team over a large geographic footprint. In this role, you will:
Pro-actively support the Line of Business (LOB) leadership from a finance perspective, including providing consultative financial support and business analytics to enable business strategy, activities and initiatives.
Ensure proper risk management and stewardship of sound financial and operational internal controls and processes.
Build relationships with business division leaders and functional support leaders.
Offer cross-business line support as needed with respect to Financial subject matter expertise.
Ensure proper preparation of financial materials for operating reviews and reports; provide financial support for projects and other ad-hoc financial analysis
Review and present monthly financial statements to understand business drivers causing variances to prior periods and forecast.
Develop, design, implement and modify financial models and tools for business analysis; anticipating issues based on knowledge of business trends and assisting with direction and solutions.
Lead a team of junior analysts with day-to-day oversight of their work product and hold primary responsibility for the successful completion of deliverables
Train, coach and mentor junior team members.
Partner with Controllers Group to ensure properly stated financials.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
3+ years deposit pricing experience
3+ years of consultative business analysis experience
3+ years of leadership experience including coaching, training, and mentoring
Financial reporting experience
Experience with applying, executing, reviewing controls or assurance with business processes
Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Business Objects, or other data management, reporting and query tools
Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
Ability to translate and present complex data in a manner that educates, enhances understanding, and influence decisions
Ability to effectively assess stakeholder, partner, or client needs while consulting, building solutions, and developing processes
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
