The Recovery Specialist I position is a key position in carrying out daily activities and establishing connections with program participants at the Recovery Station. The position is central to monitoring and maintaining organization, structure and safety for all staff, clients and community members arriving and or residing at the Recovery Station.

You’ll have the opportunity provide our community with substance abuse treatment to help people who are just discovering possibilities in their journey, going from a place of hopelessness to a place where they are valued and have the potential for a better life.

Accountabilities: (3-5)
Monitor and observe Recovery Station client behavior and activity to ensure clients are safe, accounted for and stable.
Must work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Recovery Station
Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all clients.
Maintain facility cleanliness and organization daily
Responsibilities:
People Management
Monitor and observe Recovery Station client behavior and activity to ensure clients are safe, accounted for and stable.
Conducts property safety checks on client incoming property
Monitor daily bed roster and census to ensure client accountability with program requirements.
Assist with meal preparation and meal distribution daily.
Run reports from EPIC, Medi-Cal and HMIS (MSRS only)
Must work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Recovery Station
Communicate daily needs or observational concerns or impression to Health and or SUD staff.
Participate in daily shift change activity any concerns
Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all clients.
De-escalate emotionally unstable client behavior
Provide orientation and overview for incoming clients
Attends to clients’ needs while maintaining daily activity schedule.
Maintain facility cleanliness and organization daily.
Monitoring cleanliness and performing needed cleanup duties.
Preparing bed rolls and basic hygienic items to all incoming clients
Ensure laundry details are completed
Replenish supplies as directed by Program Manager
Provide transportation and emergency response assistance.
Transport clients to local facilities when needed (Sobering Center only)
Respond to emergency needs as directed by Health Center staff and or Program Manager
Assist SUD or Health Center staff with referral and or transfer (Sobering Center only) to continuing care.

Experience in monitoring safety and daily activities
Experience observing and monitoring SUD clients in a residential setting.
Demonstrated ability to remain emotionally stable when faced with hostility or aggression.
Ability to time manage and prioritize.
Demonstrated ability to maintain facility cleanliness using facility standards
QUALIFICATIONS: (education and work experience)
Clear commitment and demonstrated experience in supporting SUD/MH individuals and preferred comfort with crisis stabilization.
Basic academic knowledge and understanding of Substance Use
Demonstrated competency in using technology.
May be registered with a state certifying SUD body (CCAPP/CADTP/CAADE)
