Position

The IT department at WCF Insurance has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a Senior Systems Engineer. This is a full-time, exempt position based in WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters.

Responsibilities

This Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for architecting/engineering complex systems which deliver an exceptional opportunity for our business users to support WCF's strategy. The person in this position is also responsible for implementation and support of these systems which include resolving any service issues in a timely manner. The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for planning the architecture to support WCF's future and retiring legacy technology in a timely way. The person is this position develops, maintains and supports technical infrastructure, hardware and system software components, performs installation, maintenance and supports of system software/hardware and user support. The Senior Systems Engineer also configures, debugs and supports multiple infrastructure platforms, performs high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures, and ensures the security compliance and software upgrade management of all servers and services. The person in this position develops, implements and thoroughly tests all appropriate system backups and disaster recovery plans for all company servers and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and five years of related work experience (or ten years of related work experience without a degree)
• Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices
• Ability to perform complex problem analysis and decision making to support a highly dynamic computer environment
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and in a collaborative environment
• Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
• Good understanding of the business case these systems will be used to support and the customer experience they will be delivering
• Strong understanding of Microsoft M365 Products, specifically Power Platform, Exchange, SharePoint & Teams
• 5 + years' experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID and Active Directory
• General knowledge of VMware technology and virtualization
• Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills
• Strong work ethic, responsiveness and passion for customer service and quality
• Excellent team player and good interpersonal skills
