In this job, you’ll In this job, you’ll work in our Underground Civil Construction & Inspection Division within Southern California Edison’s T&D Organizational Unit. You will inspect the installation of conduit, structures, and related components for compliance with Edison, State, County, and Local standards and administer contracts at the field level in our Orange Region. In addition, you may be assigned to work in any district within the Orange Region depending on department needs. Responsibilities

  • Promotes use of statistical analysis for determination of improvements and provides analyses to support risk mitigation

  • Analyzes current quality monitoring methods, systems, and tools and develops and implements new ones to increase effectiveness and efficiency

  • Dispatches field crews, troubleshooters and testers engaged in the construction, maintenance and emergency restoration of energy distribution facilities and customer service facilities

  • Ensures that the services provided to the customer meet internal and external regulatory requirements

  • Performs first-piece inspection on a variety of parts and verifies programs for inspection use

  • Maintains data integrity, accuracy and efficiency of defect material, systematically logging information and interfacing with other departments to communicate quality issues and recommend corrections

  • Creates and delivers reports on all ongoing construction, quality of work, and scheduled maintenance

  • Assists in identifying root causes as well as corrective and preventive actions, analyzing and evaluating test results and preparing reports on findings

  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supporting or leading quality field Inspections.

  • Posses a valid Class C Driver's License.

The preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of projects, including monitoring progress, reallocating resources, reporting on status, and implementing changes as needed.

  • Experience performing inspections, including providing technical support, identifying compliance issues, and providing corrective recommendations.

  • Experience coordinating activities between the Company and contractors, including assigning work, and reviewing field dailies for accuracy.

  • Two or more years of experience managing multiple tasks with conflicting schedules and limited timelines.

  • Experience with utility underground civil construction practices, specifications, and requirements, including the Underground Structures (UGS) Manual, GO128 and related industry standards (5years).

  • Experience documenting installed facilities locations on as-built drawings and preparing supporting documentation.

  • Experience preparing and delivering reports to subordinates, peers, and/or management.

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience managing risks and safety appropriately and providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • Position will require up to 75% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory
