About the role
The Sound & Vibration (S&V) engineer will be responsible for implementing sound & vibration control treatment in product design and testing, lead S&V system/component testing in a Sound chamber and in Quiet rooms, develop high quality standard work documents, be engaged in agreed terms of requirements, quality review boards, technical review boards, design input to RES engineers for prototype engineering, check sample/manufacturing, check sample/Pilot stages and assist Quality group in resolving field issues related to sound and vibration.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, design and coordinate test facilities /setups for sound and vibration measurement.
Plan and/or conduct experimental testing and carry out data analysis and reporting.
Generate written technical proposals and summary reports.
Identify solutions to S&V problems by working with Sustaining Engineers and NPD.
Implement sound and vibration control in Residential HVAC products.
6.-Conduct sound & vibration testing, analysis, and sound rating of residential heating air conditioning products in three broad areas:
AHRI and internal standards using conventional reverberation room measurement and open area survey techniques,
S&V qualification of HVAC products, R&D investigations, and some analytical modeling and vibro-acoustic simulation
Sound Quality assessment of RES/LCML HVAC products in MTH Laboratories & at field sites (including physical and /or digital sound jury’s).
Support & conduct correlation testing to validate Vibro-Acoustic & Structural MBD (Model-based Development) FEA Structural Dynamics and Vibro-Acoustic Models
Develop high quality standard work procedures for new, novel, and improved sound and vibration techniques.
Provide product engineers with sound and vibration test support and S&V control solutions and design recommendations to improve product sound and vibration performance while meeting both internal and external AHRI standards for sound, vibration, and robustness.
Train and mentor, the sound & vibration lab technicians in learning and implementing new S&V lab test and measurement techniques.
Requirements
BS Mechanical Engineering
5- 7years of relevant experience, if you haveaMaster’s could be less
Technical Knowledge
Basic knowledge on Digital Signal Analysis
Experience with instrumentation
Understand frequency analysis
Structure Dynamics
Vibration analysis
Background acoustic (in college, practical knowledge)
MS Exceland Python experience
Advanced English (required)
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have
Knowledge on sound quality
Master’s degree in Noise and Vibration Control, Modelling
MatLab programming experience
Soft skills
Problem solving skills
Analytical
Good communication skills
