• This job is a member of the Line Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
• Responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance workload, resources, and activities for terminal and/or hangar operations at their station.
• Managers are leaders of front-line supervision, providing direction in workplace safety & compliance, maintenance and key performance indicators at their station.
What you'll do
Guides and directs terminal and/or hangar supervisors in the execution of aircraft maintenance
Ensures supervisors and crews are dispatched to accomplish the operation's workload
Oversees terminal and/or hangar supervisors in the implementation of the organization's plans, processes, policies, and procedures
Collaborates with other managers to accomplish directives and objectives
Works cross-departmentally to resolve issues and develop effective relationships and solutions
Accomplishes current and long range goals and objectives in accordance with company policies and procedures
Reviews and reports on operating results against goals and takes action to correct unsatisfactory results
Periodically reviews performance data with supervisors to increase their understanding and drive related action items
Identifies training and development needs of staff throughout his/her organization and implements targeted developmental plans
Supports the "Bid Process" and ensures that bid schedules match workload demand
Supports preparation of the short-term and long-range plans and resource budgets- Represents the station and his/her work groups, as appropriate, with airport management, FAA,TSA, other government agencies, suppliers, and similar groups
Facilitates effective meetings
Manages union and non-union workforce effectively
Coaches a management team in meeting/exceeding their stations' key performance indicators & operational performance goals
Provides succession plan for key management positions in his/her area of management; develops and promotes L4 supervisors
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalency
5 years Aircraft Maintenance Operations experience
2 years supervisory experience in aircraft or a comparable industry
Experience supervising mid to large size workgroups in a multi-shift environment
Must pass FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)
Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
4 years of experience managing large transport category aircraft in Line and/or Base production operations with a proven track record
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) license
Strong interpersonal and PC skills
Ability to concurrently manage multiple areas of responsibility
Excellent analytical, organization, and planning skills
Ability to adhere to applicable safety obligations as set forth in the AA Commitment to Safety statement contained in the Safety, Security & Environment Policies and Procedures Manual
Ability to pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint check
Understanding of other areas within Line Maintenance
Ability to concurrently manage multiple areas of responsibilitiy
Ability to fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)
Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated drug testing requirements
Ability to complete a DOT Testing Inquiry Form, which provides authorization for release of records from previous employers
