Catalyst Technologies (CT) is a market leader in the syngas value chain. It develops and supplies high-value, specialty process technology and catalysts for chemicals and fuels processing to enable our customers to operate efficiently, profitably and sustainably. This position is responsible for inspecting and monitor operation of all equipment associated with the C plant operation. The lead operator will also be responsible to prepare assigned equipment for maintenance as well as writing the appropriate permit for that equipment. The incumbent is responsible to complete required task assigned by the shift foreman to satisfy specific manufacturing and customer requirements according to the latest production plans.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Knows and observes all occupational and process safety guidelines and policies, environmental practices, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Directs the activities of other operators during the shift.

  • Ensure shift handover is accurate and detailed.

  • Perform a daily safety talk with other operators on a wide range of applicable subjects.

  • Transfers products into and out of various process and storage tanks using pumps, screw conveyors and other transfer systems according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Troubleshoots all problems that occur on product transfer and other area equipment and reports issues to foreman.

  • Unloading Raw Materials including Sulfuric Acid, Liquid Sodium Silicate and Alum

  • Managing Wastewater from T-205/T-251 to the pH adjustments and oversee the volume per day

  • Sampling Reactors, Presses, PPML, Wastewater, Mill, and EDA batches

  • Making neat and PPML Batches in T-201 and cooking the batches

  • Dropping Press batches from 3 presses, including add EDA to the system

  • Pressure washing the presses

  • Making up the IX Solution

  • Changing out EDA & TPABr totes

  • Use of diaphragm pumps, changing out pumps

  • Caustic Boiling and Caustic Washing Presses (making up the caustic solution in T-201)

  • Boiler Operation-Regeneration, blow down, salt addition, operations

  • Transfer of product through hoses and line-hoses connections and unplugging lines

  • Troubleshoot Problems in the Plant

  • Accurately document and report Downtime and production numbers every shift.

  • Prepares assigned equipment for maintenance. Assists maintenance personnel with both preventive and unscheduled maintenance.

  • Draws product samples at prescribed intervals and submits them to the QC laboratory for analysis.

  • Maintains an accurate account of raw material usage on batch sheets.

  • Maintains an accurate account of daily tasks in the area logbook.

  • Manages inventory of material in intermediate bulk containers.

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the area assigned. Ensure assigned tasks are completed by everyone on shift.

  • May perform other related assignments and operate other equipment as determined by supervision.

Requirements for the role:

  • High school diploma or Equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience with chemical mixing – Preferred

  • Most be able to become forklift certified

  • Demonstrate leadership ability

  • Self-motivated individual with good time management skills

  • Proficient PC skills including MS Office
