JOB SUMMARY :

The Power BI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Power BI to support data-driven decision-making. This role involves creating interactive dashboards, reports, and data models to provide actionable insights and enhance operational efficiency. The Power BI Engineer will collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and deliver effective BI solutions that align with the company's strategic objectives . The Power BI Engineer will play a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI to meet the business requirements of different departments.

• Build and optimize data models in Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integration from multiple sources.

• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable BI solutions.

• Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, IT teams, and department heads, to understand their data needs and deliver tailored BI solutions.

• Integrate Power BI with various data sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and cloud services. Ensure seamless data flow and connectivity.

• Monitor and optimize the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure efficient data retrieval and user experience.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including design specifications, user guides, and training materials.

• Provide ongoing support for Power BI solutions, addressing any issues, updates, or enhancements as required . Ensure data accuracy and report reliability.

• Ensure that Power BI solutions adhere to data governance, security policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Performs other duties as may be assigned .

  REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES :

• Proficiency in Power BI, including report and dashboard creation, data modeling, and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) language.

• Strong knowledge of data visualization principles and best practices.

• Experience with data integration and ETL processes, including familiarity with SQL and other data querying languages.

• Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and present findings.

• Experience with data warehousing and understanding of data architecture concepts is a plus.

• Knowledge of other BI tools and technologies (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is advantageous .

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Power BI Engineer or in a similar role, with a proven track record of developing and implementing BI solutions.

• Experience in a retail environment is a plus.

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee must frequently use their hands to handle or feel objects and must be able to speak and hear clearly.

• The employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

• The employee must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
