Responsibilities Job Summary The Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness Specialist will assist and support the Network Supervisor of Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness with emergency management training, analysis, inspections, and overall network emergency preparedness and related regulatory requirements. Specialists will collaborate with leaders and staff from across the network for implementation of emergency management and preparedness. Specialist responsibilities include assessments, planning, education and training to assist in supporting network wide emergency management and preparedness. Collaborates with departmental staff and leaders from across the network to develop network synergy in emergency management and disaster preparations. Daily focus on relationships and collaborative interaction for successful preparation, education, and readiness. Provides technical guidance, training, and emergency preparedness planning and coordination including the use of Incident Command System (ICS) to ensure National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliance by the organization. Serve as an additional resource for all Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRNE) events. Assists with Hazard/Threat Vulnerability Assessment (HVA) and assessment reporting activities. Coordinate with first responders (police, fire, EMS), local, state, federal government agencies, and community partners in relation to emergency management and preparedness training and implementation. Conducts incident investigations to complete After Action Reports (AAR’s) in relation to emergency management and/or preparedness to identify root cause and/or generate recommendations to reduce, mitigate, or eliminate re-occurrence for the network. Manage network telemedicine burn program. Participates in various committees and coalitions as determined by leadership. Serves as a liaison and develops relationships with all related governmental bodies, community partners, coalitions, and regulating agencies. Actively participates in the accreditation process in both the ISO Internal Auditor and DNV Audit teams and the development and measurement of key performance indicators. Performs other duties as assigned.
