Description
The Amazon Robotics team is seeking broad, curious engineers to join our robotic manipulation team. We holistically design, build, and deliver end-to-end robotic systems. Our team is also responsible for core infrastructure and tools that serve as the backbone of our robotic applications, enabling roboticists, machine learning scientists, software engineers, and hardware engineers to deploy systems in the field.
Key job responsibilities
As a Robotics Hardware Engineer, you will design, build, and test innovative systems and module designs such as robotic end of arm tools for our robot FC solutions. The ideal candidate has experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems, enjoys analytical problem solving and possesses practical knowledge of building first of a kind systems.
A Robotics Hardware Engineer will:
The design, build, test, and documentation of new robotic mechanisms
Working with an interdisciplinary team to create, test and deploy new mechatronic designs, and improve and maintain existing product designs.
Writing requirements and functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
Working with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth production transition of design changes

Basic Qualifications
4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
Experience with prototyping and implementation
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
