The UWMC NORTHWEST PLANT ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK), EVENING SHIFT, MAINTENANCE ENGINEER. This position will be assigned to the Northwest Center for Behavioral Health and Learning. The MAINTENANCE ENGINEER performs general maintenance and repair duties to ensure safe and efficient operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Performs routine maintenance, repair and troubleshooting work throughout the hospital.

-Completes work orders in a timely and efficient manner and communicates completion of work order to the requestor and Senior Lead Engineer.

-Performs preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.

-Facilitates quality and professional grade repairs.

-Identifies potential maintenance and safety problems and notifies the Facilities Manager of all such hazards and recommends repairs as appropriate.

-Acts as a project coordinator with outside vendors.

-Utilizes safe work habits and maintains work area in an orderly manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-High school diploma or GED

-3rd Grade Boiler license from the City of Seattle

-Minimum of two years maintenance experience

Desired Skills:

-Plumbing, electrical, mechanical and/or HVAC experience

-Experience in a healthcare/hospital environment
