Port of Seattle Manager, Aviation Finance in Seattle, Washington
Some of what you'll be doing:
As the Manager, Aviation Finance, you will be responsible for the development and oversight of comprehensive financial, accounting, budgeting, and capital functions performed by staff for internal business customers.
You will manage, hire, train, and mentor direct reports including providing continuous performance management, employee feedback, address performance issues and conduct performance evaluations.
You will collaborate with internal business customers and senior leadership to provide financial support directly or by a team member and ensuring coverage for ongoing business requirements and addressing complex issues.
You will develop complex analytical approaches and research methodologies, including industry trend analysis. You will also review and test new tools and technologies that enhance effectiveness of financial information.
You will review complex models prepared by staff to increase the effectiveness or flexibility of models. You will also design and maintain financial models to address complex and dynamic financial issues.
You will prepare analyses for investment decisions that include discounted cash flow analysis, cost-benefit analysis including presenting financial recommendations and participate in investment decision making.
You will prepare and review data-driven financial reports, providing insights and analysis, utilizing data storytelling techniques and key messaging to communicate financial insights appropriate for intended audience.
You will manage report delivery process for areas of responsibility, identify and recommend changes to enhance and provide reports needed for financial compliance.
You will manage all components of the budget process under own and direct reports responsibility; including schedule and analysis, make recommendations and solve problems, verify accuracy and completeness. You will also support budget development on a more comprehensive level including roll-up to division and/or port wide views.
You may act as the Acting Assistant Aviation Finance and Budget Director, in the absence of the Assistant Aviation Finance and Budget Director.
Who you are:
Experienced – You have five (5) years performing financial management, including financial analysis, budget development and/or reporting experience and includes two (2) years of supervisory, leading, mentoring experience, including leading a project or programs.
Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration and have aviation industry or public sector finance and budget experience.

You can think strategically to develop and maintain goals and establish a course of action to accomplish them.
Adaptable – You can handle change in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple demands, and adapt to new situations with fresh ideas or innovative approaches and systems.
What else you need to know:
Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.
Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
