The Amazonian Leadership eXperiences (ALX) team is seeking an innovative and entrepreneurial Principal Product Manager, Technical, to lead our Workforce Planning (WFP) initiatives, with specific focus on cost build modeling, operational expenditure (OpEx) optimization, and partner with our Assembly team on the data vending strategy. This role will focus on developing and implementing comprehensive WFP solutions while ensuring cost effectiveness across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in workforce planning, demonstrated success in building trust across organizations, and a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions.

Working in partnership with the core WFP team, a successful candidate will leverage deep expertise in workforce dynamics and human behavior insights, combined with strong business operations fundamentals and strategic judgment. You will provide thought leadership to drive both current and future technical capabilities that accelerate revenue growth and enhance operational efficiencies.

In this role, you will be responsible for vision and execution of initiatives that optimize workforce size, location, and level - all in service of predictably accelerating product innovation and enhancing customer experience at acceptable cost. Key job responsibilities

• Leverage deep knowledge of WFP methodologies, financial data sources, and accounting practices. Applies this technical knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify.

• Drive large-scale WFP programs that solve significantly complex or endemic financial challenges, focusing on labor cost optimization, headcount forecasting, and budget alignment.

• Consistently bring strong, data-driven financial and business acumen to decision-making processes, with a focus on ROI and long-term financial sustainability.

• Earn trust with stakeholders across organizations by understanding their challenges and partnering to prioritize and deliver capabilities that solve problems at scale

• You will succeed in these endeavors by combining your product and technical experience with your ability to listen to, learn from, and communicate with customers, as well as diverse group of collaborators.

• You have demonstrated experience with product management in software development, from writing strategy documents (operating plans, PRFAQs, multi-year plans) to writing business or technical requirements, testing, technical design review and operational excellence.

• You dive deep, whether it is into metrics for the business or technical requirements with engineering and science partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
