Silver Bay Seafoods, LLC Sanitation Supervisor - Various Locations in Seattle, Washington

As the Sanitation Supervisor, you will be a vital member at one of our Alaskan processing facilities responsible for overseeing all aspects of sanitation within the plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and HACCP principles. You'll be responsible for leading your team, ensuring regulatory compliance with AKOSH, OSHA, FDA, and USDA, and implementing best practices to maintain the highest levels of sanitation according to HACCP guidelines.

Essential Functions/Qualifications

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Oversee and manage a sanitation team, providing clear instructions, fostering a positive environment, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols established by AKOSH and OSHA.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive sanitation programs that comply with AKOSH, OSHA, FDA, and USDA regulations to maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout the facility.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, work areas, and processing lines, identifying, and addressing sanitation concerns promptly.
  • Train sanitation staff on proper cleaning procedures, the safe use of sanitation chemicals in accordance with AKOSH and OSHA regulations and maintaining a hygienic work environment.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records, including chemical usage logs, cleaning schedules, and inspection reports, to ensure compliance with AKOSH, OSHA, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Stay up to date on all federal, state, and local sanitation regulations applicable to the seafood processing industry, including those established by AKOSH, OSHA, FDA, and USDA.
  • Collaborate with production and Quality Assurance teams to seamlessly integrate sanitation practices within the production process, ensuring adherence to HACCP guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement new sanitation techniques and technologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with AKOSH, OSHA, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Perform hands-on cleaning tasks as needed to ensure a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Other duties are to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.

  • Sanitation and Hygiene Knowledge:Deep understanding of sanitation principles, food safety regulations (such as HACCP), and cleaning and sanitizing procedures specific to the seafood industry.
