The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will support the development of the integrated software simulation testbed for the In-Space Systems Business Unit. You will support the development team that builds an integrated vehicle level simulation of the Blue Ring Spacecraft. You will elicit requirements from stakeholders and develop the testbed to support a range of development and operations activities. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and attention towards safe and reliable spaceflight. Responsibilities: Lead the planning, architecture, requirements, and certification of the integrated software simulation testbed Lead the release planning, management, and documentation Lead the development and test teams implementing the simulation Develop simulation models Develop test scripts that will be used to execute I&T test events Qualifications: B.S. computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline 5+ years relevant experience Strong development skills in C / C++ Experience with Python or other scripting languages Working knowledge of real-time operating systems and real-time embedded control systems (including APIs, interfaces and device drivers) Working knowledge of communications protocols such as UDP/TCP, I2C, UART, etc. Highly organized team player with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance Desired (but not required): Master of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines. 8+ years industry experience on large engineering systems Experience leading development of software simulation testbed for a complex physical system Experience integrate with vehicle software simulation environments AWS/Cloud computing platform experience could be an asset. Docker / kubernetes / containerized environment experience CI/CD + git / gitlab / github / version control experience Strong debugging skills at the software/hardware boundary, and familiarity with software verification approaches Experience with mission operations and ground data systems Familiarity with hardware emulation systems (e.g. Simics) Experience using and customizing continuous integration systems Familiarity with electrical and electronic engineering concepts Solid understanding of IP networking concepts Experience using MATLAB and Simulink Experience with communications protocols and hardware drivers Familiarity with GNC systems and 6DOF dynamics Experience with tools such as DOORs Next Generation (DNG), Gitlab, SVN, Docker, Jenkins Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $120,060.00-$168,084.00 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is
