About the Role: PitchBook News is a growing team of writers and editors who produce compelling journalism with original insights. We shine a light on fascinating people, companies, and market trends, leveraging our best-in-class datasets on the private equity and venture capital markets to engage our audience. PitchBook's News team is looking for a senior copy editor with impeccable attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and a great deal of enthusiasm for business and finance news, the written word, and teamwork. You will be responsible for editing, producing, and performing general quality assurance on PitchBook's newsletter and articles covering the private markets. Primary Job Responsibilities: Help prioritize daily editing assignments across the copy editing team Collaborate with other editors to execute on PitchBook News' content strategy and continue developing best practices for content production and publication Enforce editing standards across multiple content types and content management systems Copy edit and fact-check news articles for spelling, grammar, readability, accuracy and adherence to PitchBook style Support the news team on developing and editing data visualizations Train and help develop newer copy editors and early-career writers Use project management tools such as Asana to plan and execute publication processes Help coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage placement of sponsored or PitchBook promotional content into the newsletter Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 3 years of editing experience in a deadline-driven environment Meticulous attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with financial markets, terminology, and content Previous experience working with data or data-driven content Previous experience working in a newsroom or a similar fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Familiarity with online content management systems and basic project management software Familiarity with Associated Press or in-house style guides Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily Benefits + Compensation at PitchBook: Physical Health Comprehensive health benefits Additional medical wellness incentives STD, LTD, AD&D, and life insurance Emotional Health Paid sabbatical program after four years Paid family and paternity leave Annual educational stipend Ability to apply for tuition reimbursement CFA exam stipend Robust training programs on industry and soft skills Employee assistance program Generous allotment of va
