We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to join our 3P (third-party Payments) organization and lead the delivery of large technology initiatives on solutions to ensure a friction-less payment experience for Amazon customers. As a TPM, you will work with a large number of business units, builder teams, and partner teams to drive the adoption of solutions that support teams across Amazon throughout their software development journey. You will build and continuously improve Payment processes and workflows to scale our services and meet the diverse needs of our teams and customers. To be successful, you must be comfortable driving cross-team efforts and making independent decisions about your program. You will provide crystal-clear vision and direction for diverse engineering and business leaders, and connect experts across disciplines to develop solutions that would otherwise not be feasible. The successful candidate will be a hands-on expert who thrives in the face of ambiguity, and has a proven track record of delivering high-impact cross-functional goals. In this role, they will establish and lead projects and programs to launch and support, our products and service, identify and mitigate threats, translate business needs into technical requirements, maintain compliance with security industry standards and global regulatory regimes. We are looking for someone who can think big to develop a plan and invent mechanisms that scale to meet the broad and diverse needs of teams across Amazon. This candidate will have customer obsession, working to deeply understand the needs of our customers and relentlessly looking to improve their experience and make them more productive.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify functional and technical requirements by partnering with product, engineering and other internal security teams

  • Work closely with software engineers to build secure solutions that meet customer needs

  • Create controls and mechanisms to drive adoption and iterative improvement of product capabilities throughout our technology

  • Drive execution and maintain alignment through creating program management structure and engagement with engineers, leaders and executives

  • Apply expertise in technical discussions, keeping all stakeholders productively engaged

  • Prepare and present detailed, written technical information for internal and external audiences

  • Possess sharp analytic abilities and business acumen, with proven design skills

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
