We are seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager to drive strategic initiatives and complex technical programs across the AWS Industries organization. The ideal candidate earns trust through outstanding performance, demonstrates strong strategic planning and project management skills, and effectively coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact results.
This critical and highly visible role plays a key part in developing and implementing data-driven strategies foundational to our success. The position is responsible for leading high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives, developing program visions and roadmaps for BI solutions, driving operational best practices in data management, and fostering innovation within AWS Industries.
Ideal candidates are passionate about data governance, analytics, and operational excellence. They continuously seek to optimize data processes, drive innovation in BI solutions, and strive for increased efficiency in data-driven decision-making. With a strong understanding of both business needs and technical data solutions, successful candidates will use their project management, data engineering, and leadership skills to develop analytics solutions that move the business forward and enable better, faster, data-informed decision-making.
Key job responsibilities
Lead high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives across AWS Industries, managing the entire project lifecycle from conception to launch.
Develop and communicate program vision, roadmaps and strategies based on data, customer needs, and organizational goals.
Drive operational best practices for data governance, quality, and management to enable team scalability and growth.
Create detailed business requirements and user stories for product specifications and architecture.
Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting strategic, financial, and technical goals, unblocking teams to perform optimally.
Evaluate and recommend technical solutions that meet customer requirements, ensure scalability, and adhere to timelines.
Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver highly available, performant, and secure products at Amazon scale.
Own executive communications and status reports for leadership and field organizations.
Implement best practices, training, and documentation to support program objectives and reduce exposure to common failure modes.
Foster innovation and continuous improvement within AWS Industries, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance organizational management.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
3+ years of software development experience
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
