Harborview Medical Center – CLINICAL ENGINEERING has an outstanding opportunity for full-time (100% FTE, 40 hours a week), day shift, Biomedical Electronics Technician Supervisor.
WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week
Day Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS The Supervisor will oversee the repair and maintenance activities performed by CE staff. Provide on-site leadership for all components of the medical equipment management program. Participate in the development of departmental and entity continuous quality improvement initiatives. Maximize patient safety by supporting proper use, application, and operational performance of patient care equipment. Act as technical resource to CE staff for repair and maintenance activities on selected equipment and related systems. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives work requests and review drawings and schematics; consults with health care professionals, vendors, and other technical personnel on design concepts, cost estimates, equipment requirements and limitations, feasibility of fabrication and safety features of the equipment in use or construction; design, determines and/or recommends choice of materials, electronic components, etc;
Establishes work schedules, instructs and directs work operations, inspects work in progress and assures that standards of quality required by the work are met and that they meet federal, state, and local fire and electrical safety requirements; provides technical instruction and guidance on repair procedures;
Evaluate staff productivity, efficiency, and other specific work quality performance indices.
Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements.
Supervise and instruct biomedical electronics maintenance personnel in the safe use, application, testing, and preventive maintenance and repair of all types of clinical equipment technologies and systems.
Audit work completed by in-house staff and take corrective actions where necessary.
Maintain facility records and write reports as required;
Provide training to biomedical technicians as appropriate;
Verify process exist to ensure appropriate response to all service requests;
Assist in, or makes arrangements for, vendor services; REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Two years of experience as a Biomedical Electronics Technician III or Lead OR Seven years of experience as a biomedical electronics technicianORequivalent education/experience.
