Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Logistics Management Specialist in Selfridge ANG Base, Michigan

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Positions are under the supervision of the Combat Service & Combat Services Support Readiness & Sustainment (R&S) Directorate. Responsibilities Maintain continuous liaison with concerned personnel to fully coordinate pertinent information relative to assigned programs. Manage a comprehensive program of logistical support. Develop logistic plans to assure integration of various logistic functions in support of assigned vehicles or projects. Participates in the development of basic budgetary requirements for adequate logistics support of assigned systems. Serves as the principal point of contact for all logistics support activities for assigned vehicle systems. Evaluate and coordinate efforts of the functional specialist to identify specific requirements and to develop and adjust plans and schedules to meet each requirement as scheduled. Assess system deployment plans to assure that distribution and support planning is substantive and accurate. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) developing integrated logistics support plans to achieve Milestones, Full Rate Production, Conditional Material Release or Full Material Release; (2) developing or managing logistics contract requirements for execution of contract awards; (3) providing logistical support on maintenance or supply procedures to support Technical Manuals, training material, or provisioning data for requisitions; AND (4) creating or editing equipment technical data such as manuals, provisioning, or training materials for the soldier. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower band/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a secret security clearance is a condition of employment. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. This position is a term position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. Position will be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Employees on term appointments will be separated at the end of the term appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended. Permanent employees who accept term appointments will not have placement rights to the previously held permanent position at the end of the term appointment. Employees on term appointments will be separated at the end of the term appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended. May be converted non-competitively to career-conditional or career appointment based on personal competitive status.
