Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are looking to hire two material handlers/forklift operators for a third-party logistics company. The role involves handling chemical drums, using forklifts to transport them to staging docks, and labeling them. This position requires attention to detail due to the chemical facility environment. Overtime is available as workload increases.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move chemical drums.

  • Use paper pick sheets to locate and transport items.

  • Load and unload materials onto forklifts.

  • Transport materials to staging docks and label them.

  • Repeat the process for multiple items.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months experience with forklift/pallet jack.

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a warehouse environment.

  • Attention to detail, especially in a chemical facility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • No specific education requirements.

  • Steel-toed shoes required.

  • Strong attendance record.

  • Experience with various types of forklifts including sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

Work Environment

This is an on-site warehouse position at a chemical facility. The warehouse is managed by a team of around 40 employees, including both floor staff and management. Shifts available include a 2nd shift Fork Truck Operator position from 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday (with training on the first shift for 2 weeks), and a 1st shift Trailer Liner position from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Selkirk, New York.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50
