Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Ambulatory Aide to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) teams! Position Summary: Be part of our Same Day Surgery Center Team in Shakopee with occasional travel to other Same Day Surgery Center(s) as needed. We are looking for team members to support our growing services, with opportunities to provide patient care in our Surgery Center(s). We have a fast-paced multi-specialty Surgical Center. Our team is looking for candidates with a positive outlook and ability to work well on a team. The Ambulatory Aide position is responsible for patient care under the supervision of the nursing staff. Primary responsibilities include transporting patients, maintaining the equipment and supplies in readiness for patient care. Orders and stocks supplies necessary for the daily functioning of the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This job provides an excellent opportunity to learn about surgery and ideal for someone who is pursuing a career in healthcare. This position will crossover between frontline duties and supporting the nursing team with hands on patient care. This role will: Offer a warm welcome greeting, check in patients for surgery, and collect copays. Assist nursing in daily tasks and direct patient care including personal care, ambulating/transporting patients, turning over patient rooms, documenting patient care tasks, and maintaining equipment and supplies in readiness for patient care. Help facilitate the flow of the day by assisting with set up and turnover of operating rooms, pick cases for surgery, and transport specimens. Assist with clerical support as requested. Work Schedule: 32 hrs weekly / .8 FTE Variable Start Times Variable Shift Lengths Rotating Late Shifts Occasional travel to alternate sites per rotation Required Qualifications: Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively problem solve and to make sound decisions within the scope of the position. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
