The Oatey Intern Experience supports our growing organization by attracting talented students to develop them into future leaders. It is unique with one-on-one mentorship, developmental feedback and coaching, lunch series, engaging networking events and weekly forums. You will work closely with experts to develop your skills and gain valuable insight in your chosen career field. Additionally, you will have exposure to all leadership levels of Oatey. Manufacturing Automation Engineering Intern Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Automation Manufacturing team, the intern will complete a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Manufacturing Automation Engineering located at the Shakopee, MN Cherne Industries location. Assignments will make a positive contribution to Oatey as well as provide the student with “hands-on” work experience.

Expectations & Accountabilities…

Fabrication of automated equipment for improving production processes across Oatey product lines.

Support Automation Engineers in wiring, machining, and assembling custom automation

Manufacturing process analysis and evaluation for automation.

Startup support for debug and production

Design and document work cells and fixtures to support process improvements

What you’ll need to be successful…

Education and Certification: Enrolled in an Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician program

Microsoft Office Suite - proficient user, emphasis on Excel

Solidworks experience (or any CAD)

Interest in manufacturing process design, material flow, production equipment, work methods, and processes

Ability to work within a cross-functional, multi-cultural team

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize work efficiently

Process-oriented thinker

Qualifications that will set you apart…

Electronical wiring experience a plus

PLC programming experience a plus

Mechanical aptitude/some hands-on experience is a plus
