Job Description

Position Summary:

As a Sr. Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and implementing data governance initiatives within the organization. This role focuses on ensuring data quality, integrity, and security, while also driving the optimization of data management processes to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for data governance. Ensure that the data infrastructure meets current business needs and can scale for future expansion, providing a foundation for enterprise growth.

  • Improve data accuracy, consistency, and value across different platforms and systems by working with teams from various functions in data quality improvement projects.

  • Manage metadata effectively, continuously update and maintain data catalogs for clear organization and efficient utilization of data assets, improving data accessibility and comprehensibility.

  • Implement strong measures to align with regulatory requirements and protect the security of the enterprise's data assets.

  • Provide support and training to team members on data governance practices, improve the team's overall data governance awareness and capabilities, and develop a positive data governance culture.

  • Resolve data-related issues and conflicts in the organization, coordinating resources to ensure smooth and efficient data flow and improve operational efficiency.

  • Identify key data needs in core processes, clarify crucial data elements, and formulate targeted governance strategies. Improve efficiency and decision-making accuracy, demonstrate quantifiable business value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance or related fields, with practical experience in enhancing business value through data governance based on business scenarios.

  • In-depth understanding of data management principles and practices required. Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies necessary. Proficiency in SQL language a must. Experience in data analysis and tool languages preferred, such as SAS, R or Python. Ability to use technical means to solve complex data problems.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify data issues and propose solutions. Proficient in English reading and writing to handle technical documents and communication. Ability to connect data governance with business outcomes and measure its efficiency.

  • Good communication and leadership abilities are required. Must be able to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels, promote smooth implementation of data governance projects, lead teams, and manage projects. Must understand the crucial role of data governance in business development and drive its value realization continuously.
