Job Summary

This collaborative role develops a strategic plan to implement world-class procedures, deploy technology, and improve physical MRO Inventory handling, storage, and transaction optimization. This is a dynamic role, working with Residential and Commercial site Maintenance Supervisors and Storeroom personnel in assessing the current state of the warehousing operations, identifying specific improvement initiatives, and providing resources and leadership to solve at the site-level. This role works closely with Procurement to leverage purchasing economies and to right-size On-Hand quantities at site and regional levels. This role works with GAF Business Systems to enhance the technical platforms (CMMS) to drive efficiency at the sites, as well as to provide robust data analysis for Continuous Improvement. This role works with site-level maintenance and warehouse teams to drive Maintenance efficiency through improved kitting processes, spare parts stocking strategies, and physical and virtual inventory improvements. This role works with site Reliability Engineers to support RCFA activities as needed, rebuildable component specifications, repair vs replace, spare part assembly improvements, and spare parts criticality and PMs. This is a remote-based position with 50% travel requirements to support plant needs and projects.

Essential Duties

  • Lead strategy Development and Tactical Deployment

  • Perform plant-level assessments to identify current state measured against best practices in all areas of inventory management.

  • Development of a prioritized roadmap for implementation of the improvement plan, aligned with overall RxM vision and uniform processes across all sites.

  • Determines change readiness and identifies needed resources both short-term and long-term term to execute on the improvement plan.

  • Works directly with the Stores Clerks and Coordinators and can tailor site-specific needs on a case-by-case basis.

  • Works with supporting organizations on a unified business approach for the GAF network.

  • Chairs and facilitates periodic Inventory and Warehouse performance dialogues, with supporting KPIs both upward and downward in the organization.

  • Participates and partners in all Maintenance performance discussions to ensure alignment and timing of projects with overall maintenance business initiatives.

  • Performs cost analysis to optimize GAF purchase vs VMI, consignment opportunities, and vending solutions.

  • Understands part consumption rates and optimizes OHQ / stocking levels.

  • Identifies opportunities for inventory burn-down of overstock by right-sizing Min/Max reorder levels.

  • Supports development of Asset Bills of Materials and “Where Used” analysis

Qualifications Required

  • Associate’s Degree Technical, Engineering, or Business Field Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of Industrial or Manufacturing warehousing and inventory experience.

  • Experience in MRO receiving, tagging, put-away processes

  • Experience in MRO reservations, picking, delivery, and kitting

  • Experience in Rebuildable component processing: pick up, shipping, return to run condition.

  • Experience in Cycle counting

  • Experience in 5S methodologies

  • Demonstrated history of improving warehousing and inventory processes, physical storage spaces and handling, and MRO cost improvements.

  • Expert with CMMS systems, especially inventory and work order management modules.

  • Must have technical aptitude with mechanical and electrical assemblies.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain records, generate reports, and communicate KPIs to stakeholders to monitor the effectiveness of the site warehouse processes

  • Must have extensive experience in modifying/enriching CMMS functionality to enable a user-friendly, and efficient technical solution.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to all audiences across the organization

Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications.

Annual Salary Range: 135,000-172,500
