Actalent Qa/qc Manager in Silver Spring, Maryland

Job Title: QA/QC ManagerJob Description

We are seeking a QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control for various construction and energy conservation measures (ECM) projects at the Federal Research Center in White Oak, Silver Spring, MD. These projects include the installation of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), lighting upgrades, water conservation measures, and transformer replacements. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of construction quality and compliance with federal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field quality assurance work during construction.

  • Recommend approval or rejection of construction contractor's materials, workmanship, and equipment.

  • Monitor labor and safety provisions.

  • Maintain inspection logs and records, including lists of defects and omissions.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering concepts for the operation of central HVAC installations in large commercial buildings.

  • Prepare correspondence and maintain official construction site records.

  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications, including submittals and shop drawings.

  • Inspect materials, workmanship, and construction and installation of various systems.

  • Ensure adherence to safety practices in the construction industry, including OSHA safety requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of five (5) years of specialized experience in relevant construction work.

  • Knowledge of engineering concepts for central HVAC installations in large commercial buildings.

  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.

  • Experience in preparing correspondence and maintaining official construction site records.

  • Knowledge of construction practices and workmanship, including proper uses of construction materials and installation methods.

  • Experience in interpreting construction drawings and specifications on construction projects.

  • Ability to inspect materials, workmanship, and construction and installation of various systems.

  • Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements on construction projects.

  • HSPD 12 Eligibility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of P100 requirements.

  • Experience in monitoring labor and safety provisions.

  • Ability to maintain inspection logs and records.

Work Environment

Work will be performed at the Federal Research Center White Oak in Silver Spring, MD. The position requires full-time, onsite presence during the construction stage and whenever construction activity or personnel are present. The role promises longevity with guaranteed work for multi-year contracts with federal agencies, based on newer relationships.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $45.19/hr.
