TriMas Corporation Tube Room Operator in Simi Valley, California

Principal Responsibilities

The principal duties are to be able to program and operate the tube bending machine.

Duties:

Operate Programmable Tube Bending Machine

Fabricate thin-wall aircraft ducting tubing material, as required

Follow specifications as outlined on the work order or engineering drawings

Set up clamp blocks and mandrels

Work to acceptable tolerance using various precision measuring instruments and fixtures

Must be able to work under minimum supervision

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/ Experience:

High School degree and at least five years of experience in tube bending operations, especially on programmable equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and abilities:

Ability to read, write and understand English, able to read work orders or engineering drawings, able to correspond in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, etc.

Ability to use basic mathematical skills plus basic trigonometry, able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

Must be able to use tools, e.g. Vernier calipers, micrometers, etc.

Ability to work with other supporting groups (Engineering, Quality)

Ability to troubleshoot setups, when needed

Basic knowledge of all tools pertinent to tube bending

Essential Physical/ Mental Abilities Required:

Employee is required to stand, reach, sit, walk, stoop, use hands to finger, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The pay range for this position is from $20.00 to $37.00 (hourly).
