Manulife IT Business Analyst in Singapore, Singapore
IT Business Analyst researches and analyzes improvement opportunities, conducts analysis, prepares recommendations, and facilitates implementation of technology solutions that meet business needs. This role provides opportunities to continuously evolve practices and do things differently. It encourages exposure and upskilling to acquire new skillsets, knowledge and experience. The outcome will directly impact the speed of achieving organization objectives and quality of deliverables.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Serves as the liaison and the reference point between the business and the technical analyst in making sure the requirements are clearly understood and translated to the functional requirements by leveraging on the resources and skill-set within and across the work-streams
Support product owner, SME (Subject Matter Expert), engineers and architects in solutioning conversations, ensuring optimum leverage in underlying components while meeting business needs
Conduct prioritization with product owner
Play scrum master role and perform sprint planning
Ensure squad members have accurate understanding on user stories and acceptance criteria
Ensure delivery (code/product) is adequately tested to an acceptable standards
Ensure UAT sign off is secured for deployment into production
Use data to elaborate and justify
Escalate risks and issue as necessary

Job-specific Accountabilities
Interprets and documents business and functional requirements
Research and documents issues involving workflow procedures and processes
Analyzes data and develops creative solutions
Coordinates recommended process changes, enhancements and product implementations, including test plans to ensure successful implementation
Collaborates with Engineering and Architecture teams to create detailed system maps, illustrating the flow of data, processes, and interactions within existing and proposed systems
Translates business and user requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories
Facilitates the design sessions with the project implementation team
Determines the acceptance testing framework and standards to assess completed projects
Assists in translating User stories and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, and user acceptance testing
Conducts review sessions to gain approval of requirements and manage changes through the application of standard control processes and tools
Evaluates and recommends technological solutions that align with business needs and industry leading practices
Facilitates communication between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborates with development teams to ensure successful implementation of system enhancements or new solutions
Technical and Functional Knowledge
In-depth understanding of business analysis principles and methodologies, and technological systems
Good understanding of the group function including product offerings, and service and management structure
Understanding of system design and analysis and user testing
Experienced using business analysis tools and techniques
Ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders representing a broad range of functions and levels
Understanding of relevant software development methodologies
Familiarity with enterprise-level systems and applications

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in BA role
Experience in Life Insurance organization is a must
Experience in writing business and technical requirements is a must, preferably for workflow, document management system, document generation engine and APIs
Delivery experience in Agile preferred
Experience working with regional development team preferred
