Equinor Trading Operations Leader in Singapore, Singapore
What does the job involve?
Responsible for planning, scheduling and managing the movement of commodities including crude and oil products, as well as overseeing ship and cargo operations. Includes supply scheduling logistics, analysis of tankage inventories.
You are utilizing your knowledge independently to solve highly complex tasks with a short to medium-term tactical impact/risk. You address key business challenges that align with Equinor's short and long-term strategy by setting targets and executing work for your team, which you lead, or by defining and delivering services for a specific area. You may lead a project/task within a wider portfolio. You independently lead communication with stakeholders across the business as well as with partners and external parties. You lead negotiations and facilitate the decision-making processes. You oversee execution of improvement agendas, and coach others to embrace change and ambiguity. You demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities/ways of working that are highly complex and actively communicate to others on how to do so. You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.
What will my tasks be?
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
Act in accordance with our ‘shape, empower and deliver’ leadership expectations.
Have a formal employer role responsibility on behalf of Equinor, including regular follow up of people development, performance evaluation and compliance with working environment requirements.
Responsible for planning and executing tasks including risk follow up.
Assist in directing the developing and implementing of strategies to optimize the buying and selling of energy commodities to balance the energy portfolio including through effective flow and supply chain management.
Plan, schedule, and manage transportation for energy commodities to ensure timely delivery and optimize transportation capacity.
Implement measures to ensure the quality maintenance of energy commodities during storage and transportation.
Support in analysis of industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to make informed decisions regarding energy buying and selling.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and risk management, to optimize energy operations.
Support in leading change initiatives, including recurring projects, to ensure functional insights adapt to the changing market context.
Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, service providers, customers, and regulatory bodies.

At least 10 years of commercial and operational experience in cargo and ship operations, with deep technical and operational knowledge of managing diverse commodities such as crude oil and oil products and preferably knowledge of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) operations. This includes experience with oil terminal operations and Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfers.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role such as Team or Desk Lead, demonstrating the ability to inspire, guide, and develop diverse teams effectively.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Economics, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Proven ability to mentor and develop talent, drive organisational change, implement efficiencies, and embrace technologies to advance digitalisation.
Established and long-standing networks with commercial service providers, with a proven capacity to strengthen and expand these relationships.
Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly, persuade effectively, and influence stakeholders in an engaging and appropriate manner.
